FROM COLD TO TROPICAL

Saltwater fly fishing; to some fly anglers this is tantamount to blasphemy.Whereas for fly anglers who do not balk at the idea of fishing the salt, it is a welcome change, for instance during closed season on their favourite rivers, when freshwater is frozen solid, or just to target different species in a completely different environment.

DRY FLIES

Is there anything more beautiful than seeing, almost feeling, a fish taking a dry fly from the water surface? I didn’t think so. And even though I am by no means a dry fly purist, that sense of satisfaction when everything comes together in the span of a few seconds is very hard to beat.

200 pages of fly fishing Joy

In this Christmas edition I have tried to focus on Europe and its fly fishing opportunities.
Despite a somewhat difficult start to this edition - I am having some trouble focusing on
my work with all the misery in the world – we somehow managed to make this Christmas issue 200 pages thick. Along the way we also managed to work-out some new ideas, which are included in this issue.

I hope the upcoming issue of We Are Fly Fishing Magazine - titled Summer Memories - will warm your heart and soul in this increasingly chilly world (release date: this weekend March 14-16).

The freedom to go wherever one wants is increasingly under pressure. The number of countries facing internal and/or external conflicts is growing by the day. At the same time, the urge to travel (to go on a trip) is growing stronger by the day. This may seem contradictory, but fear of loss, or reduction of free will, territory, or food, always results in roughly the same behavior. Time to make a travel magazine:)
